MF Mamiya RZ67 Pro II – B&W film

 Hey, The story around this shot is funny as we were trying to get a nice shot with the MKII and just couldn’t get through it, so we just gave up and I tried one shot with the MF, and it seems to be the one.

This picture intimidates me to be honest…

The setup here is funny: A light meter, a subject (Romy), no additional light source and literally 5 mins and 2 tries before this shot. this wasn’t planned, it’s just a random one.

Ok something is definitely missing here and on the other posts too, it’s the backstage picture…. conditions here and on the other spots were real hard and I must say i’m used to this but still I should share it with you.

Natural light was used here as you should guess but some of the others were shot using house lights and some of the set ups were pretty insane, i’m sure you’d crack up by seeing them.

This is the the picture of the day, I’m still using natural light here with a reflector but very subtle. This is the original picture and I must say that I’m very pleased with the dynamic-range it came out with…

Hi there!

Here we are with the 3rd one! I don’t have much more to say until I finish uploading the whole series appart from the fact that I might start update once a day since I’ve got quite a few more to come…

Here is the second one, sorry for not scanning the polaroids properly, I just don’t like the idea of having them all clean and flat on my screen, it makes them look just the same as any other digital picture to me…

Here is the start of a new series using different types of cameras, from now on I will regularly post the MF (with 120mm film back) shots with their polaroid previews aside (shot with a 110mm f2,8),  once all the medium format shots will be online I’ll post an entire series shot with the 5D MKII on the same subject.

Reflectors + natural light part II

As promised here is a part of the 2nd session using this time 2 big reflectors (because of the small amount of light in the room + the fact that I was actually facing a big natural light source which makes it even harder to light the subject) Anyhow as said in the previous post, this shoot was more on a ‘subtle light’ desired effect.
